2021 Spring Registration

Please click HERE for our Spring registration flyer.

Spring registration is open until 2/1/21 at midnight.

We have additional resources regarding COVID-19 and the guidelines that will be in place for our Spring season
HERE or on our "Documents/Resources" tab.

We wanted to list a few things that we have been getting questions about.

Season

When does the season start?  How long is the season?  What days will they play?

We are planning on playing 12 games in 9 weeks (11 total weeks, with Spring Break and All-Star Break included).  So, there will be 2 weeks that the kids will have to play 2 games (Opening Day will count as one of the 12 games).
We are anticipating a season start date of 2/29/21, running through 5/11/21.  We have tried to create space in the schedule in order to better allow coaches to have at least 1 practice per week, once games are underway.   Final scheduling for is subject to actual registration numbers.  We are planning on having the 4U, 6U, and 8U play on either Tuesdays or Thursdays (or both), while 10U, 12U, and 14U will play on Mondays and possibly Thursdays (or both).  Fridays and Saturdays are designated for makeup games, as needed.  We have 3 dates already scheduled on the calendar which is available HERE.

Again, actual scheduling depends on the registration numbers that we have and how many teams are formed.

Registration

Where do we go to sign up?  How do I register my kid?  How much is it?

Click
HERE (www.HuntsvilleBaseballLeague.com) to go to our website.
On the home page, click "Login" (if you are new to our league or click "Register" to create a new account.
Enter your information and your player's information as prompted.
When finished, your account home page should show "1 program available" beside your player's name.
Click there, and it will guide you through our registration process, where you will pay by credit/debit card at the end.
You should receive a confirmation email once your child is registered.

In person.  We will have two in-person registrations at Kate Barr Ross Park baseball 4-plex on 1/9 and 1/23 from 10am-2pm.  We will register you online while there, but you will have the ability to pay cash or check.
You can also stop by Extreme Outfitters at 617 11th Street in Huntsville, during normal business hours, to submit a completed registration form and payment (checks and exact cash only).  Please print the paper registration form, found HERE, and complete before taking to Extreme Outfitters.  If you have any questions about the form or registration process, please send us an email to [email protected]

Our standard Spring registration fee is $150. Due to the successful registration numbers for our newest age group, we are again offering the 4U Foal division for this Spring. We have priced this division at $90, because we understand that there are a lot of first-time players in this division and initial equipment purchases can be a burden. We were also able to reduce the price for this division because the 4U Foal division is strictly instructional, without umpires. Our 6U Shetland and 8U Pinto divisions received a reduced price of $130, because our umpire fees are less for these divisions.

Player's "League Age"

My child is 4, but the only program available is 6U.

Are you confused about the age brackets and the divisions?  Don't feel bad.  There are many people asking the same questions.  So, we wanted to try and explain/clarify that here.

Here's how the age bracket works (I will use a DOB of 8/17/2016, for our example).
Per the PONY (our governing organization) bracket, the player in our scenario would have been considered to have a "league age" of 4 for last Spring (2020), because PONY's age bracket for 2020 is from 9/1/2019 to 8/31/2020.

We purposely setup the Spring 2021 divisions to utilize the correct ‘league age’ that your child should fall under.
In our scenario above, the player's "league age" for Spring of 2021 will be 5, because he/she will turn 5 between 9/1/20 and 8/31/21.

We only allow 1 division as a choice, because it makes registration so much easier for our board, as well as the parents.  We used to have parents that mistakenly signed their 4-year-old up in the 8U division (for example).  If you feel that your player (according to this scenario) shouldn't be playing in the age group that is shown for them, please email us with your concerns.

PONY's age bracket is the same as the Texas schools, so your player should be playing with the kids that are in their grade.  So, in our scenario, the other kids in his/her grade should be in 6U as well.

We have created a new FAQ tab HERE, which has some of this same information on it, but may have other useful info as well, and we will be adding to it as needed.
Hopefully this will help answer some questions that many parents seemed to have.

But please email us at [email protected] if you have any further questions.
